A house, or rather, a home isn't just a home nowadays. It is a bewildering collection of contraptions, each of which requires painstaking assembly, and more than a couple of hours of research when it comes to installation. Equally so, if any one of these expensive, and confusing budgets breaks down, as they are all too likely to, it requires time and effort to get them going again.
And the last thing you want to do in these busy times is call your handyman, and count the minutes until he chooses to turn up. The good news is, most of these potential breakdowns only need the odd handy job to get going again, and these can be performed relatively easily by you, on your own time.
Porter Cable Power Tools
To be able to do these repair jobs however, you need a certain set of tools. The exact set may differ from home to home, but there is a certain selection that you must keep handy at all times.
1.Hammer
In the first case, a basic hammer and nails set is mandatory. A relatively broad based hammer, and a set of nails of different lengths, depending on where you need to hang stuff up.
2. Saw
A regular saw, or an electric one, if you can afford one, is the next item on the list.
3. Power Drill
A power drill, with the regular attachments (a standard issue nowadays comes with no less than sixteen attachments) along with a magnetic screwdriver completes your basic requirement.
4. Tape
Along with this, you need to make sure you have industrial strength scotch-tape, some double sided tape and a reliable set of pliers.
5. Wrench And Bolts
A wrench, and a standard issue set of bolts more or less completes your basic requirements.
Of course, depending upon the other requirements that specialized equipment in your house may have, your list may grow longer, but what has been mentioned above should cover most reasonable requirements.
6. Safety
Remember, safety comes first, so it always makes for good sense to have some standard first aid equipment, such as gauze, some Band-Aids and perhaps the odd tube of antiseptic cream handy. Put all of these items together in one handy, easy to find box, and you'll find that you can handle most of the basic requirements yourself.
